I used the nailer this morning hanging crown molding and it worked flawlessly. not a scratch on it. Great deal. I just received my Factory Reconditioned Bostitch finish nailer. I have bought new items that didn't look as new as this one.
I have used the gun on several projects and have found it to perform 100% to my liking. when i first looked at this tool on line, i was a little bit hesitant about ordering it. I would buy this again without a question. I might also add that this gun is very light and comfortable to handle. I thought it might look and operate like it was old looking and over used, but when I opened the box I was amazed at the perfect and new condition it was in. It also came with a nice carrying case, a box of nails and an assortment of tips that I had no idea were included in the price.
And the price of the nailer was lower than advertised. Arrived as advertised, even included a box of nails, which I did not expect. The final total worked out to be the same either way, so not an issue, I just found this odd. although the shipping was more. Nailer is in great condition, works perfectly, with a couple of scratches on the head, as expected. A very lightweight and powerful nailer.
In fact if you were to put them side by side you would be very hard pushed to see any difference between the new & reconditioned nailer. Having bought new in the past, I know what they look like & now having bought a reconditioned finish nailer I can tell you that it looks & performs just like a new one.
The unit was in perfect condition out of the box. It leaves a small hole that is easily covered with putty, barely noticeable when finished. The nailer came in the mail 2 days earlier than I expected. The nailer performed flawlessly with the Bostitch brand 2 1/2 inch nails. The 15 gauge nails are strong enough to hold, but thin enough to not split the wood. I switched to the 1 inch Bostitch nails and didn't have this problem anymore. I have yet to have a misfire with the Bostitch nails.
I build a lot of antique reproduction style furniture, and this tool is a must. Not a problem because I had plenty for just such an occasion.
This was remedied when I aimed it downward towards the ground. I did have to use my own compressor adapter, as it did not come with one included.
It had extra foot covers included in the box, which was nice. Only some minute indications that it had ever been used.
All in all a great product at a great price.Well under the price you pay for a substandard brand from the local tool store. I did have a minor problem with 1 inch Hitachi brand 1 inch nails. When I held it up to nail into the wall, it misfired about every 5th nail.
I suggest using the brand nails for this unit.
